Project Detail
Nkonkobe Heritage Tourism Project, Commonwealth Local Government Forum
BEFSA has project managed a British Government funded project to create jobs in the Nkonkobe Municipality in the Eastern Cape. The project which was focussed on creating jobs around the region’s rich heritage came to an end in April 2006. The project was described by the external assessors from DfID as a ‘model project’ and the best of 10 projects in South Africa and 3 in India. A bid for funding for a second phase has been submitted by BEFSA to the UK government.
